Albion Online is the sandbox MMO for people who want EVE's economics with a medieval fantasy skin and a much lower barrier to entry. Your build is your equipment, there is no class, and switching from healer to two-handed melee is a matter of changing kit. That makes experimentation cheap and specialisation a deliberate choice.

Nearly every item in the game is crafted by a player from materials gathered by a player, and in the open zones it can all be taken from your corpse. That loop is the entire economy: gear has value because it is destroyed constantly. There are safe zones for people who want the crafting and gathering game without the risk, and the game runs on desktop and mobile from the same account.
