Apex Legends inherited Titanfall's movement, slide-jumping, wall-climbing, momentum that carries, and built a battle royale where traversal is a skill in itself. Fights happen at speed and at range, and the time-to-kill is long enough that a losing engagement can be reversed rather than simply lost.

Its other genuine contribution is the ping system, which was good enough that most of the genre copied it. You can call out a location, an enemy, a weapon or an intention with a single button, and a squad of strangers with no voice chat can coordinate properly. For anyone who does not want to talk to people, it is the most playable team game here.
